WELCOME BACK!!!!
It has been an extremely long off-season and my week 2 picks were posted on Twitter, as opposed to here on the blog. For those of you new to the site, I don't publish many week 1 picks, as that is an opportunity to see who teams are, how they perform, etc. Without further ado, I will give you my week 3 CFB picks.
Louisville -14
Georgia State +40
UCLA +4 (I also like the ML for those interested)
GT/Duke OVER 58.5
Oregon -27.5
Alabama -8
Alabama/aTm UNDER 60.5
Auburn -6
**Game (Pick) of the Week**
#25 Ole Miss @ Texas 7:00PM CST
Everyone is quick to throw Texas and Mack Brown out of the window this week, after a heartbreaking and gut wrenching loss on the road @ BYU. This week, they look as if they are licking their wounds and are ripe for the taking when the upbeat, fresh looking Rebels of Ole Miss come to town.Ole Miss brings a talented quarterback in Bo Wallace. All of the analysts think that Wallace will make the Texas defense struggle with his legs, as well as his arm. In the words of Lee Corso, I say, NOT SO FAST my friend. Wallace has accounted for 63 yards on the ground this year vs. two opponents that are not stellar (Vandy and SE Mo St). He has only accounted for 2 touchdowns through the air vs. those very same teams. This is a guy who went for 22 TD in the air last year, while throwing 17 INT's. He is not the best at keeping the ball in his teams possession. He averaged 2.7 yards a carry last season while running the football. He is in no way, to be compared to Taysom Hill of BYU. Texas fired their DC Manny Diaz for a reason, to prove that this season is important, and thought of to be a special year. With the talent they have on this team, and the fact that they are playing in their house, I look for Texas to win this game with ease, much like they did a year ago. Ole Miss is the "trendy" pick because of how they finished their season last year in the bowl game, and how they finished the recruiting season with one of the top classes in America. That does not translate to a win over a big time program right away, and that will be evident this weekend in Austin. A season ago, these very same teams met in Oxford and the Ole Miss defense, which is the same this year (minus the addition of Nkemdiche), was unable to stop Texas from hanging 66 on them in their house. I don't expect 97 points in this game, as was a year ago, but I would still look for Texas to lock in a double digit win, surpassing the -3 Spread.
TEXAS -3
