9/13

WELCOME BACK!!!!

It has been an extremely long off-season and my week 2 picks were posted on Twitter, as opposed to here on the blog. For those of you new to the site, I don't publish many week 1 picks, as that is an opportunity to see who teams are, how they perform, etc. Without further ado, I will give you my week 3 CFB picks.

Louisville -14
Georgia State +40
UCLA +4 (I also like the ML for those interested)
GT/Duke OVER 58.5
Oregon -27.5
Alabama -8
Alabama/aTm UNDER 60.5
Auburn -6

**Game (Pick) of the Week**
#25 Ole Miss @ Texas 7:00PM CST

Everyone is quick to throw Texas and Mack Brown out of the window this week, after a heartbreaking and gut wrenching loss on the road @ BYU. This week, they look as if they are licking their wounds and are ripe for the taking when the upbeat, fresh looking Rebels of Ole Miss come to town.Ole Miss brings a talented quarterback in Bo Wallace. All of the analysts think that Wallace will make the Texas defense struggle with his legs, as well as his arm. In the words of Lee Corso, I say, NOT SO FAST my friend. Wallace has accounted for 63 yards on the ground this year vs. two opponents that are not stellar (Vandy and SE Mo St). He has only accounted for 2 touchdowns through the air vs. those very same teams. This is a guy who went for 22 TD in the air last year, while throwing 17 INT's. He is not the best at keeping the ball in his teams possession. He averaged 2.7 yards a carry last season while running the football. He is in no way, to be compared to Taysom Hill of BYU. Texas fired their DC Manny Diaz for a reason, to prove that this season is important, and thought of to be a special year. With the talent they have on this team, and the fact that they are playing in their house, I look for Texas to win this game with ease, much like they did a year ago. Ole Miss is the "trendy" pick because of how they finished their season last year in the bowl game, and how they finished the recruiting season with one of the top classes in America. That does not translate to a win over a big time program right away, and that will be evident this weekend in Austin. A season ago, these very same teams met in Oxford and the Ole Miss defense, which is the same this year (minus the addition of Nkemdiche), was unable to stop Texas from hanging 66 on them in their house. I don't expect 97 points in this game, as was a year ago, but I would still look for Texas to lock in a double digit win, surpassing the -3 Spread.

TEXAS -3

CBB 57-43-2 (57%)
NFL 29-14-1 (67%)
NBA 34-33 (51%)
CFB 18-11-1 (SEASON OVER) (62%)

Yesterday, I only had 3 CBB plays, one of which being a 3* pick. Pitt, as a +2 nearly won by 30. We also saw Mizzou cash in wining easily, covering the 9 points, as well as Duke/Clemson total going WELL under the 131 advertised.

If you followed me on twitter, you would have seen that I have already locked in some CBB plays for today as well as an NBA play for tonight.

CBB PLAYS
2* BOISE ST +5
VILLANOVA +3.5
MARYLAND -5.5
BUTLER +2
GEORGE WASHINGTON -3

NBA PLAYS
LAL/SAS OVER 213

After going 1-5 the last two nights on NBA play, I look to hold off on playing it until I find something to be a 2-3* play. Gotta get back on track for the season. Having picked the NBA for 4 seasons now, I have never dropped below 60% for a season. As you can see above, this year has not been an average year.

CBB - 53-41-2
NFL - 29-14-1
NBA -  33-27-1
CFB - 18-11-1

After playing all 4 NFL games (both winners and totals), we were able to cash in on 3 winners and 2 unders. Putting the NFL record this weekend at 5-3.

CBB did not do so hot, seeing only Florida and Temple as winners.

CFB saw Ole Miss cash in, while the OU in the over went 0-2.

We should get back on track today with some big money.

CFB PLAY
Alabama/Notre Dame UNDER 40.5

NBA plays
Chicago/Cleveland UNDER 187
Boston/NY UNDER 193
Memphis -3.5

CBB plays
Notre Dame +5
Penn State +17
Illinois Chicago -3

The NFL this weekend will have some huge picks. I will go ahead and tell you that if NE drops to anywhere between 7-8 points as a favorite, I will lock that down as a 10* pick. Stay tuned for that pick.

I would also suggest anyone interested to look at Baltimore +9.5 today, as that line will come down drastically by Saturday morning.

Two more intriguing selections I noticed today. Seattle is a +550 right now to win the superbowl, while Baltimore is a +1200. Seattle in my opinion is playing the most inspired football in the last 2 months, having only lost one game since November 4th. They have outscored their last 5 opponents 193-60. In order for them to make it to the NFC championship game, they will have to beat the Falcons, who are coming off of arguablly one of the most disappointing losses in the NFL this season. Expect a Seattle win this weekend in the Georgia Dome.

Baltimore on the other hand is playing extremely inspired football, knowing this could be Ray Lewis' last game in the purple and black. They are however playing Denver, and one of the hotter passing attacks in the NFL. I wouldn't go too far in picking them to win this week straight up, let alone the AFC (where they would more than likely have to play the PATS) or the superbowl.

Not telling you to bet the farm on these, however they would be interesting to put something small on one of the two, as they pay out good odds.
